Makeup Aftercare Guide

After Your Event

Remove Your Makeup Before Bed

Please remove your makeup before sleeping.

Leaving makeup on overnight can:

  • Clog pores

  • Cause breakouts

  • Dry out skin

  • Irritate eyes and lashes

Double Cleanse Your Skin

First Cleanse

Use:

  • Makeup remover

  • Micellar water

  • Cleansing balm

  • Gentle oil cleanser

This removes:

  • Foundation

  • SPF

  • Setting spray

  • Long-wear products

Second Cleanse

Wash your face with a gentle facial cleanser to fully cleanse the skin.

Rehydrate Your Skin

After makeup removal:

  • Apply moisturizer

  • Use hydrating serums if desired

  • Apply lip balm

Be Gentle With Your Skin

After wearing glam makeup, avoid:

  • Harsh scrubs

  • Aggressive exfoliation

  • Picking at skin

  • Overwashing

Your skin barrier may already be slightly sensitive from long-wear makeup.

Lash Care

If You Wore Strip Lashes

  • Remove lashes gently from the outer corner inward.

  • Never pull lashes off quickly.

  • Remove leftover glue carefully.

If reusable:

  • Gently clean the lash band

  • Store lashes back in their case

If You Have Lash Extensions

  • Avoid oil-based removers near lashes

  • Clean lashes gently

  • Do not rub eyes aggressively

Breakout Prevention Tips

If you are acne-prone:

  • Change your pillowcase after the event

  • Avoid touching your face

  • Continue your normal skincare routine gently

The Next Day

Your skin may benefit from:

  • Hydration

  • A gentle face mask

  • Light skincare

  • Minimal makeup if possible

This gives your skin time to recover and rebalance.

Important Reminder

Everyone’s skin is different. If irritation, redness, or breakouts occur after your appointment, discontinue any new products and treat your skin gently. If severe irritation occurs, contact a healthcare professional.
